Import Vintners & Spirits Association (IVSA) has partnered with industry affiliates ABLE BC, BC Hotel Association (BCHA), BC Restaurants and Foodservices Association (BCRFA) and Restaurants Canada, to address an LDB pricing practice causing significant uncertainty and margin erosion in our industry.
Together, we have written to the Honourable Coralee Oakes (Minister of Small Business, Red-Tape Reduction, and Minister Responsible for LDB) to address our serious concerns about the lack of transparency and consistency around BCLS’s retail mark-ups and their tendency to change markups monthly and without warning.
Our associations have proposed a Fixed Hospitality Retail Markup so that agents, suppliers, and hospitality customers can anticipate the cost of their products, protect fragile margins, and increase business certainty.
