My name is Alexandra Quinton and I have recently arrived in Canada from Australia where I worked for one of Australia (and the world's) biggest liquor companies - Woolworths Liquor. Having not been long in Canada, I am currently employed part time at a local liquor store, but I thought to send you a quick email to see if you currently had any positions available, or any advice for someone who has a passion for the wine industry.
In my role in Australia I worked for Langton's Fine Wines, Australia's leading retailer for fine wines and was responsible for a floor of up to 80 staff. I have WSET Level 3 (with distinction) which saw me training new sales staff on the basics of wine prior to them starting. I was responsible for the recruitment, training and ongoing coaching of new staff as well as a lot of the administrative roles, budgeting, forecasting and have had experience working closely with managers and staff from other departments including sales and marketing, HR and Events.
Before moving into my management role I was in a sales position where I represented wineries across Australia and New Zealand. I am also a qualified English Teacher and have excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to liaise with people from all walks of life.
