IVSA News & Covid-19 updates: March 2020 Issue #1

Dear IVSA members:  (Issued MARCH 17th, 2020)
    During this time of uncertainty, I wanted to reach out on behalf of the IVSA Board of Directors and our Administration, with the hope that all our members, their staff and families are safe and informed.
    Over the next few days, I hope to update you on what you need to know as an employee and employer regarding COVID 19 affects on our industry.  Updates will include any Federal guidelines for employees to stay at home. Financial relief for business and employees at this time of need.
    Please stay tuned as we all learn more about moving forward and keeping our community safe.

IVSA/BCLDB Wholesale: Inbound Shipment Handbook
Effective February 12th, 2020
 To assist vendors in preparing shipments to our warehouses, the new LDB Inbound Shipment Handbook is now available on our Wholesale Operations website.
 The handbook contains vital guidelines for all vendors related to inbound shipments entering the LDB warehouses.
Please follow the information outlined in the handbook, the LDB will apply these guidelines when receiving a shipment.

BCLDB Wholesale: Dates and Deadlines Calendar 2020/21
Effective March 13, 2020
Attached please find the letter in regards to Revised Dates and Deadlines Calendar for the 2020/2021 fiscal year.  The revised calendar is posted on the BCLDB vendor website for your reference now.  wholesalepricing@bcldb.com
 NOTE: due to Global Price Change for Period 1, Effective April 1st - a WHOLESALE Pricing Freeze will be from March 16th - 27th  

BCLDB Wholesale: Kegged ready-to-drink over 20L
Due to industry demand, LDB will accept registration of kegged ready to drink refreshment beverages over 20 litres starting Friday, March 13th.  (Vendor Website Registration)
The retail mark-up for this category will be 15%, and effective from April 1st 2020. The retail markup on kegged cider products remains unchanged.
Breweries, commercial distilleries, and wineries will now be permitted to direct sell and deliver kegged ready to drink refreshment beverages to wholesale customers. Keg sizes will not be limited in terms of maximum or minimum size. Vendors will be responsible for the collection of empty kegs.  
Sales agreements will be revised for the following manufacturers: commercial wineries, breweries, commercial distilleries. Any questions: ldbvendorhelp@bcldb.com.

NOTICE: For concerns about the COVID-19 virus, the Canadian governments have required cancellation of  large-scale public events.  Many organizations have made the difficult decision to postpone upcoming industry events to help protect the health and safety of our communities. Organizers are in the process of  rescheduling the events. We wil provide updates as the information becomes available.
