New IVSA Executive Director
The IVSA Board of Directors is delighted to introduce Matthew Watters as our new Executive Director, commencing April 15th, 2024.
Matthew brings a wealth of leadership experience and a proven track record in strategic management across a diverse range of industries. As the visionary founder and president of multiple companies, he has spearheaded investments, provided value to shareholders, and facilitated capital support for burgeoning start-ups. His adept leadership has been pivotal in fostering growth and innovation.
Matthew is a graduate of the University of Windsor, holding an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Prior to joining us, Matthew held the positions of CEO and Board Chair at BC Craft Supply Co. Ltd, a publicly traded cannabis enterprise headquartered in Vancouver. Through his experience in the Cannabis industry, he has acquired skills that will be key in navigating the regulatory liquor environment. His extensive professional journey also encompasses pivotal roles within the BC Public Service, as well as operational leadership in both the food and tech sectors. We feel the combination of his entrepreneurial spirit and public service foundation is exactly the spark the IVSA needs to grow membership and break down barriers that impede our businesses in both Alberta and BC.
